1846-O $1 PCGS MS64 Silver Seated Dollar

First year minted at the New Orleans mint.

The 1846-O One Dollar is part of a series of Liberty Seated dollar coins struck from 1840–1866. Struck in New Orleans and designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of 90% silver; 10% copper from a mintage of 59,000 struck.

Obverse: Lady Liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 stars appear on the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom middle.

Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOL. around the periphery. The mint mark appears under the eagle.
